A membership at High Roost is simple — and built for the hunter. Your birds are included. There are no steep initiation costs, no separate grounds fees, and no need to self-stock or buy birds individually. We stock our covers three times a week to ensure regular access to well-managed grounds and a more authentic upland hunting experience. Just show up, sign in, and hunt.

High Roost is open from September through the end of March, giving you more time to hunt beyond the state-sanctioned season. Start a month early in September to tune up your dogs before prime Northwoods hunting, and keep going after the season closes to sharpen skills and work on improvement areas.

We also believe in growing the upland community, which is why we host special events for new hunters, open public days, and offer private hunts for those looking for a more tailored experience.

At High Roost, our 154+ acres are built to replicate the natural New England uplands — young forest, thick alder runs, mountain laurel, and old field edges — the same rugged cover that holds grouse and woodcock. Hunting zones are carefully planned to prevent crowding and keep every hunt safe. Our goal is simple: prepare you and your dog for the real challenges of the Northwoods, chasing wild birds in authentic habitat, not just stocked game in manicured fields.
